When your cash-secured put gets assigned, the trade isn't over. It just became a stock position.
Options traders don't trade in a vacuum. Cash-secured puts lead to assignments. Covered calls lead to share sales. Directional convictions sometimes express themselves as outright stock buys. If your journal only tracks options, you're missing half the story.
MindTrajour's stock trading module lets you log long and short equity positions in the same journal as your options — with real-time pricing, P&L tracking, and full integration with tags, bundles, and emotion logs.
Supported strategies
- Long Stock — Buy to open, sell to close. P&L calculated as
(exit price − entry price) × shares − fees. - Short Stock — Sell to open, buy to close. P&L calculated as
(entry price − exit price) × shares − fees.
Both strategies support open positions with live unrealized P&L using real-time market data.
Logging a stock trade
- Switch to Stocks — use the asset type switcher in the navigation bar to move from Options to Stocks.
- Search for a ticker — start typing a symbol or company name. Results include the exchange, current price, and company logo.
- Select a strategy — Long Stock or Short Stock.
- Enter your position — fill in entry date, price per share, number of shares, and an optional order fee. Your cost basis and statistics update live as you type.
- Add an exit — when the position is closed, add the exit date, price per share, and any closing fee.
Real-time pricing
Open stock positions show live unrealized P&L based on current market prices. The price is fetched automatically — no manual entry needed to track where a position stands today.
